President’s Message
2007 will be remembered for years to come. Canway became one of the most recognized Moving & Storage Company in the country.
However, now it is official.
After taking a very brief period to absorb the good news, the Canway family went immediately to work, getting prepared for the summer ahead. Given that the increase of business represented an 88% swell over our traditional volume of household moves (in addition to our already healthy share of corporate relocations), we knew that we would need all of the manpower and resources we could muster in order to properly service all of our customers.
The first order of business on the agency side involved the recruitment of additional personnel, the purchase or lease of more equipment and the acquisition of extra warehousing space. Here at Canway we too had to hire new employees, expand our physical space, purchase more computer hardware, develop enhanced systems, communicate
information and conduct more training sessions at our Mississauga training location. In fact, over the period of approximately three months, we saw over 300 people at our regional meetings and our sales training sessions. This level of participation was proof that everyone at Canway was ready and willing to do his or her part.
On a "go forward basis", Canway is currently hard at work laying the foundation for an equally busy 2008. An in depth analysis of the challenges faced in 2007, along with a frank and open discussion with our staff during our annual conference in Toronto has helped Canway identify where we need to make improvements in 2008. This has led to the development of new programs that will be launched early in the new year.
2008 is sure to be another banner year. Canway will be embarking on a major technology initiative with the introduction of document imaging. This will allow for 24/7 access to documents, increased productivity and faster revenue distribution.
I would like to say thank you to all of our loyal corporate and residential clients who continue to trust Canway to handle their relocations. We know that you have a choice in carrier and we genuinely appreciate your business.
And last but certainly not least, I would like to say how very proud I am of every member of the Canway family who worked so hard this past year. I know that there were many long hours put in each week and that personal sacrifices were made in order to provide the highest level of service to our valued customers. You are to be congratulated for your efforts.
